Message to the community about my absence

Hello everyone, your trusted writer reporting back to duty. I feel I owe an explanation for my absence to those readers who week after week follow my articles.

First of all, we celebrated the one‑year anniversary of Filmacnova, which took place on March 19, 2026. It’s a project I started because I firmly believe knowledge is meant to be shared so we can all grow together. This is only the beginning of the vast digital universe I have planned for this blog.

For those who visit my blog every week, I’m truly grateful that you stick around to see my point of view on each topic—and most of all, for giving me a bit of your time. When I checked that email on the anniversary, I realized we had reached 500 visits!!! /o/ and For those new readers who come across this community post, welcome! Enjoy the blog, because every day our community will keep growing.

As the Spanish YouTuber Willyrex once said: “If the message reaches just one person and changes something in them positively, I’m satisfied.” That’s the ideology I like to follow. Filmacnova is a space to learn about photography, video, and editing (and other related topics) in an “easy” way—I put that in quotes because sometimes technical terms can’t be completely avoided, but without a doubt, it can serve as a springboard to learn them.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. I should mention that I lost my “north” a bit, feeling like I had to be an expert to bring you the best advice or news. But then I remembered the true purpose of this blog: documenting comes before having the absolute truth. At the end of the day, this is just a point of view or opinion, not an irrefutable fact. It’s simply the starting point of something bigger—and as a first step, it’s far better than doing nothing at all.

It’s important to highlight the value of mental health. Sometimes impostor syndrome can be extremely difficult to deal with—especially when you’re used to doing everything perfectly. Learning to enjoy the small things and rewarding yourself even for the tiniest achievements is essential. I don’t usually share much about my private life, but that’s where true connection with others happens. For example, I’ve been working on new habits like swimming, practicing calisthenics, waking up early (and therefore going to bed early), and eating healthily.

Social media often influences us—for instance, the idea that the gym is therapeutic for everyone, which isn’t always the case. With so many sports and disciplines out there, each person can find inner peace in different activities. In my case, it’s swimming. Maybe I won’t build a “gym body,” but at this point, as long as I feel good, that’s enough for me. So I encourage you not to obsess over one specific thing—always try alternatives. You never know what you might be missing out on… and who knows, maybe you’ll even meet the love of your life… talking exclusively about sports haha

Now, the reason for my absence was due to a family medical emergency, where I became almost a full‑time nurse and “chef” at home (I do have good seasoning skills, but I have the utmost respect for those who practice this profession daily). The recovery period lasted six months, and fortunately, our family doctor has already given the green light for this person to return to their usual activities.

Regarding the blog, in the free hours I’ve had, I’ve been writing the upcoming articles. So, as you may have noticed, last Thursday I came back with a review of an event organized by Pexels—and I’ll do my best to keep publishing every Thursday with a new topic to learn or explore.

Sending a big hug to everyone, and here’s to many more years with Filmacnova! 🎉
